In Florida, the placement test is also known as the Florida CPT and the Florida college placement exam.

Miami Dade Community College is one of the largest colleges in Florida that requires the CPT.

In 2011, Broward College and Valencia College began using the PERT Test.

The state of Texas adminsiters the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) as their placement test for college students.
